Lack of sleep

Ever since I bought the media player from Sim Lim, my parents have been staying up late every late watching dramas from our harddisks, it's good in a way as it keeps them occupied and my parents no longer sleep at 11pm, instead, they sleep at 1am now! However, the downside of this is that I can't get to sleep early too, partly due to the noise and also worried that my mum doesn't know how to operate the player.

Anyway, it's still a good investment since I download most of the HK dramas from 1Kan and we can watch them together in the living room, but it kinda made my TV in the room redundant Sad

Was thinking of buying the iPhone from Starhub for S$388, hopefully I can sell my iPod Touch away for S$150 at least, so that I'll only be paying S$238 to upgrade to the iPhone. No point selling my current phone away so I'll probably just pass it on to my mum (of coz, she might not be willing to use it coz she won't wanna learn how to operate a new device).

It sucks that Starhub is unwilling to give me vouchers to buy the iPhone, they said the vouchers are only applicable for other phones...bahhh!

My new media player!!

Rushed down to Sim Lim Square yesterday to get this media player, it works wonders on my RMVB files download from 1kan. Now I can basically watch EVERYTHING on the big TV in the living room!

Very bad headache

Had a bad headache since yesterday evening, it feels really horrible and I'm guessing that the headache could be due to over straining my eyes on my laptop or not having enough sleep over the past few nights.

Popped in 2 pain killers last night before I sleep and for a moment, I thought it was fine but now it's back again >_< Well, at least it's not as bad as last evening anymore, just gotta bear with it, another hour to go before I can knock off!!

I'm heading off to Sim Lim Square after work, hoping to get the RMVB player so that I can watch the downloaded dramas in the living room with my mum!! Yipeee!! I hope I can get it today and hope that my files will work on the player! So excited! Been wanting to get one for a damn long time!

I've already lost count of the amount of money I've spent recently, just bought 2 Ferragamo bags last Friday but it was a good deal, 60% discount on one of the bags! Hoping to buy another Gucci again later in the year if I can afford it...

Oh by the way, boss treated us (colleagues who's birthday falls in December) lunch today at Waraku Pasta!! Yummy!! It would be better if I can also get Ben&Jerry's ice-cream...hehehe

Really looking forward to meeting Sam tomorrow and I'm on 1/2 day leave for the next 3 days!

Thou shall not preach

I think "Thou shall not preach" should really be included as 1 of the 10 commandments or something. I really hate it so much when people go on and on preaching about something, pretending that they know so much about everything and everyone. I hate it even more when these people sterotypes other people and discriminates.

I had lunch today with my colleagues as one of them is leaving the company and somehow we got onto the topic of homosexuals. My boss went on and on preaching about how people dunno what they truely want and how they'll change their minds in the later part of their lives. Who is he to judge other people and what makes him think he has the rights to decide what is right and what is wrong? It is not even officially illegal to be homosexual, it's not even a crime in the eyes of the law.

Just becoz he is so obessed in having sex and making babies doesn't mean everyone else in the world has to live the same life as his! Seriously, what is wrong with this guy? And if he is so against homosexuals, then he should quit his job now coz his boss is also a gay! Since he discriminates homosexuals that much, why does he have to suffer in silence to work under a gay boss then?

Has he been raped by some random guy in NS? It's up to other people who they wanna be with and he has no rights to comment on whether they made a right choice or not. I hope he suffers retribution someday when his kids become homosexuals too! This guy deserves no pity from anyone at all. Hope my job interview tomorrow goes smoothly and I hope I no longer have to work for such a narrow minded boss anymore!

He is not that great afterall too, his wife is a divorcee with 2 kids, he is just a stepdad to them anyway. Not that I discriminate divorcees or step-parents, I just dun like the way he always thinks he is superior to everyone else in the world. Glad that his ex-gf rejected his marriage proposal, I think she knew very well what kind of a guy he is. Good for her!

Job Interview

After sending more than 30 resumes out, I've finally got an interview lined up for me this Thursday. However, the new company seems to be a much smaller company than where I'm currently working in. Am I willing to downgrade myself to a smaller company who will probably pay me a better salary? Or should I just stick to my current job and wait faithfully for a pay raise or promotion that God knows when it will ever come.

It's really difficult for me to survive on my current pay now, to make things worst, I believe the government will increase the bus fares, MRT fares and cab fares next year...how else am I going to survive with my miserable pay? Furthermore, I would also like to get myself a new LV bag next month as my birthday present...Tongue

I'm also supposed to go on a trip to Japan with my bestie next year....I really have no idea where all that money is gonna come from! The good news is I can probably pay my mum lesser next September when I've finally repay her the school fees that I owe her, but that's still about a year to go, by then, I hope I'm still alive!

Currently, the amount of money that I'm owing the banks is S$2,238 and I haven't even buy myself a LV bag! After buying the LV bag, I'll owe the banks about S$3,500 in total!! I'm really depending on my 13th month pay to save my dear life. I wonder how I can buy a LCD TV, Wii, and a GUCCI bag and still travel to Taiwan last year! Ok perhaps I know the reason behind my swelling bills... I really need to get it sorted out by end of next month at least!

Getting used to it

Sometimes it's just a matter of getting used to not having a particular person in your life, I mean, surely we won't die just becoz someone pull out from our lives, right? It's like kicking a habit or something...maybe it's similar to smoking, it's addictive, it's unhealthy, you know you need to quit but you can't, simply coz you've already gotten used to it and... yes it's just addictive. It gives you good feelings, it makes you happy, you dun wanna quit.

BUT IT IS UNHEALTHY ANYWAY!

Relationships are scary little things, which was why I prefer to be single. No obligations to go out with one another, I'll do whatever I like and spend on whatever I want. No heartbreaks, no anger, no explanation... just total bliss!

I really enjoy just spending time alone in my room, doing my own stuffs, and maybe not doing anything... I love spending time with myself, reading things, blogging, watching movies etc... This is how I want my life to be.

Desperate Singles

The letter from SDN sparked me into typing this long long entry, yesterday my sis received a letter from SDN (for the Nth time) urging her to take part in those meaningless matchmaking activities organised by them, this bunch of people seriously think that all Singaporeans are as desperate as them. They clearly have no idea that life is alot more than just finding a mate to mate, reproduce and die. Since when Singaporeans are being raised like animals where our sole purpose of existing in this world is to mate and reproduce? If Singapore is so desperate to increase birth rate, then I can gladly provide the government with much more brilliant ideas than matchmaking and blind dates and I'm 100% sure my ideas will work. I'm bursting with ideas now!

(1) Give the singles 50 days of PAID annual leave
Urge the singles to go on leave, when the singles are on leave, they are bored, when they are bored, they go out and meet up with people, when they meet up with people, there's a higher chance for them to fall in love and eventually, yes, mate and reproduce. If the singles sent in an application to the office stating with evidence that they are traveling with a partner of an opposite gender, the company will then grant them an additional 10 days of leave so that they will be bored at night when they are traveling with their partner, and when they have nothing to do at night, they mate and they reproduce. The current system of giving leaves to those who are married and with children are just dumb, these people are already married and with kids, the government should target those who are STILL single, not those who are already married and with kids! By giving more childcare leave, marriage leave, maternity leave to those who are married, the extra workload falls on those who are single, while the singles have to work double now since their colleague is on maternity/childcare/marriage leave, the singles will not have the time and energy to go out and meet other singles! Therefore the singles will remain single forever, so the government's plan has failed terribly!

(2) Subsidize dating expenses for those who are single
Since we all know that dating costs money, to further courage the singles to date, the government should subsidize the singles whenever they go on a date with another single of the opposite gender, all expenses spent local/overseas will be subsidized for at least 90%. Now all the guys will be able to afford expensive gifts for the girls and will be able to bring their dates to posh restaurants for dinner, the girls will be super happy upon receiving the expensive gifts and after a posh and romantic dinner, sex is gauranteed, they mate and TADAH!! They reproduce! The guy is happy, the girl is happy, our government is happy too. The government should also subsidize their wedding expenses to ensure that they get married, since money is often the main worry in relationships, the government should lift this burden off those who are singles and allow them to mate date freely without financial burden.

(3) Legalize polygamy
This should be the most efficient way to increase birth rate, by legalizing polygamy, everyone can now have more than one husband/wife, this will be extremely efficient as a man can have more than 1 wife and he can impregnant as many wives as he wishes at the same time, without having to waste time waiting for one kid to be born after another. Singapore's birth rate will increase by at least 400% in just a year! I believe there is a number of women in Singapore being kept as a mistress, when polygamy is legalized, these women no longer have to be a mistress and can legally be the lawful wife of the man they have been secreting dating with, with that, they can rightfully have children with the man too!

(4) Ban divorce, condoms and abortion
Due to the legalization of polygamy, many existing wives may feel threatened and may want to divorce their husbands, but we will also implement a law to ban divorce, condoms and abortion. No matter whatever reason you have, you are not allowed to divorce your husband/wife, if you no longer love him/her, you can still mate with him/her, but you are also free to marry someone else if you happen to find love again. How brilliant is that? Ok maybe some will rebuke me by saying that this will defeat the purpose of marrying but hey, at least the government can keep track of who is mating who, in case someone gets Aids (since condoms are being banned now), it's easier to track down who are the ones who are likely to be infected. We're creating alot of jobs too since there will be a sudden surge of marriages, wedding planners will get business, more people will flock to ROM, hotels will be fully booked for wedding dinners, tourism will flourish when they go on honeymoon, more babies will be made, hospitals will be full, milk powder and diapers will be in high demand... our economy will flourish!! The thought of this excites me!

(5) Fully subsidized education up to University
The biggest worry for most families in Singapore is not being able to afford the children's education, the government will then fully subsidized the education fees of all Singapore-born children up till University.

(6) More maternity leave
For those who have a son, maternity leave will be 19 years until their son reaches the age to enlist NS, for those who have a daugther, maternity leave will be 22 years until their daughter graduated from University. This will ensure that the children grow up with their mother taking good care of them, the government encourages family bonding and with 19-22 years of bonding with their children everyday, I'm sure family ties will be very strong.

(7) Allow all the singles to buy HDB flats and live together in the same district
Currently, the law only allow singles who are at least 35 years old to buy second hand HDB flats, that means the singles have to live with their parents till they are 35 years old, either that or they will have to rent a flat. The government should then develop a new district, since Punggol is popular for the newly weds, the new district will be named as "Bachelors & Bachelorettes", in short, it's called B&B. All singles of any age can buy the HDB flats in this district, since the singles are all staying in the same district now, it increases the chances of a single meeting another single in the lift. They will greet each other in the lift everyday, soon it'll blossom into friendship and maybe one day, they'll start mating dating! See! It's all about meeting new people who are single (that's what SDN is for anyway, right? but SDN won't work coz the singles simply have no time/money to take part in stupid activities).

From someone wise...

"A woman is prettiest on her wedding day" ~~ and someone told me that this is so becoz this woman has never put in efforts in grooming herself, on usual days, she doesn't make up, doesn't dress up in nice clothes, therefore, the once in a lifetime opportunity she gets to dress up and make up is on her wedding day, therefore, that's the reason why she's supposed to be the prettiest on that day.

Are women capable of having their own lives, making themselves pretty, buying expensive things for themselves, fixing the damn computer, travel around the world and be happy without a male mammal?

It's 2009 and it's really sad when everyone (usually in the more conservative parts of Asia, for example Singapore) chose to believe that women can only live and truely be happy when she has a male mammal (preferrably in human form) to GUIDE her in her life and SAVE her from whatever-shit-that-I-am-unaware-of.

It rained today and I did not have an umbrella with me, I stood in a corner under some random HDB flat waiting for a cab and there was this couple walking into the shelter, the guy was sharing an umbrella with the girl and when they got into the shelter (which happens to be very narrow), rain drops from the umbrella fell onto my arm....In my heart, I was thinking ~ alright, so what if you have a bf holding the umbrella for you? You still have to run and wet your feet to get to the shelter!

And me? Yea, so what if I do not have a bf holding the damn umbrella for me? I've got S$50 bucks in my Vivienne Westwood wallet, all I have to do is to wait for an empty cab, stretched my arm out, get into the cab, mumble the destination I need to go to... and TADAH!!! In less than 3 minutes I'm back in office, seated on my cozy armchair :) Shoes dry, jeans dry, head dry and that only cost me S$4
